For this new body of work A Sea from Soot, a 5th century soot recipe from the dust of cokes coal is scratched, written, and fused into glass sheets. Reading the 'ends of times' from literature based on the 'beginnings of time' - the texts dream towards an Earthly unrest. The enlarged magic lantern slides embody atmospheric science with cosmological imagination: weather systems, planetary diagrams, and geological matter became part of a larger metaphysical vision.
